The office Bernardes+Jacobsen was created in
2001 fruit of the union between the architects
Thiago Bernardes and Paulo Jacobsen. In 2005
Bernardo Jacobsen became partner of the
office. Consequence of a history that crosses
three generations, the office became one of the
biggest architecture office in Brazil, with more
than 1000 built projects including residences,
offices, leisure, entertainment, institutional and
furniture design. An architecture that seeks an
equilibrium between interior and exterior, the
plastic use of materials and the client’s needs
and wishes has been settled as the office’s own
language.
Nowadays, BJA is developing projects of
architecture and urbanism in Brazil and
abroad, although has been divided into two
cells: Bernardes Architecture and Jacobsen
Arquitecture, both with head offices in Rio de
Janeiro and Sao Paulo and staffed with over 50
collaborators.
