Established in 1999 by architects Sundeep Gwash and Vishal Shah, THE FIRM is today renowned as a multi-disciplinary design practice that aims at working with clients who share their passion for excellence in design. While its core competencies comprise architecture, interior design, urban and landscape planning, it also provides specialized services to the media facilities industry (in association with RA, London) both in India and abroad. THE FIRM is headquartered in Mumbai and had established its first international office in the United Kingdom. The award-winning practice embeds Sustainability as an intrinsic part of its design philosophy. Its notable multi-category projects in India include Skywalks, the iconic Signature Tower, Green Homes — Orchid Villas, Educational Training Centre (ETC) for Special Children, Trinity World School, Yash Raj Film Studios (YRF), Whistling Woods International, Prime Focus facilities and selective media facilities at Doha, Moscow, London, Israel and Istanbul amongst others. At our practice, we understand the clients’ vision, partner with them for their project, and deliver cost-effective design solutions and we believe that Architecture is truly stirring the users emotional response towards the spaces created. We realize that simply fulfilling the basic functional needs of a project often results in only mundane solutions. But we work hard to include the more elusive and less utilitarian aspects and pave the way for higher architectural quality. Interestingly, THE FIRM has been pioneering in India for adopting BIM (Building Information Model) and is proud to have it as its forte.
