The firm has an extensive and exciting portfolio of residential and commercial projects, and is particularly renowned for its creation of bespoke, freestanding homes that sit in harmony with the natural surrounds and client personality. Every MCK project starts from a strong conceptual basis and is realized through close consultation with the client. MCK has a distinctive design aesthetic featuring classic proportion and geometric form often including the use of materials that challenge expectations and spaces that offer an element of surprise. MCK combine innovative constructional form with modernist formality to deliver unique space both functional and beautiful. Over the past 15 years MCK has been awarded and acclaimed by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, the Institute of Interior Designers and the Australian Design Council for its outstanding contributions to Australian architecture. In 2008 MCK was invited to contribute to Abundant, the Australian submission for the 11th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. Several completed projects have been featured in national and international publications including “Next Wave – Emerging Talents in Australian Architecture”. MCK has also been invited to take part in exhibitions celebrating Sydney and Australian architecture and have given guest lectures at the New South Wales and National Art Galleries.
