Andrea Gmünder
In 2010 Andrea Gmünder founded her company, feinform, Atelier für Signaletik und Grafik (signage and graphic design studio) in Zurich – establishing herself as a freelancer with a 20-year background in her trade. At feinform, she brings exciting signage projects to fruition and develops comprehensive concepts in corporate design, visual communications and identification.
She acquired her skills at the Schule für Gestaltung (school of design) in St.Gallen, Switzerland, 1990–95, at the CMU in Pittsburgh, USA, 1993, and working for renowned graphic design and signage studios in St.Gallen and Zurich, Switzerland, 1993–2010. Enrolling in the CAS urban identity & design course taught by Ruedi Baur at zHdK Zurich, she further consolidated her knowledge of designing public spaces.
Signage soon grew into feinform’s core discipline. Equipped with a keen interest in architecture, a great talent for coordination and a profound knowledge of materials, workflows and advertising, Andrea Gmünder manages and coordinates public building projects – always demonstrating an extraordinary feel for the design, the location, its purpose and its users.
