DANS arhitekti architectural office is a team of experienced architects, Miha Desman, Katarina Pirkmajer Desman, Vlatka Ljubanovic, Eva Fiser Berlot and Rok Bogataj. They have formed the DANS arhitekti architectural office in 2004 as a part of the Arhe design company. DANS arhitekti members focus on projects which feature a prominent social role, e.g. schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and buildings for people with special needs, in recent years even religious architecture. Buildings designed by DANS arhitekti are a reflection of physical, social and symbolic context of their site, content and function. Instead of being a platform for egotistic self-promotion of architect as an author, buildings by DANS arhitekti responsibly consider the space in order to achieve the perfect balance between utility and beauty of architecture. Each of their projects is carefully developed through intensive team work, numerous debates, drawings, lengthy decision-making processes and argumentation. The team of architects usually works in collaboration with interdisciplinary team of colleagues and in close cooperation with clients and users. First drafts and ideas are organized into precise building processes which feature intelligent spatial solutions, interior design, materials and interesting details. DANS arhitekti strive to be actively present in the building process, from first drafts to final results. Atmosphere of their studio is open, active and creative, and their office acts as a lively meeting place for architects and artists of all generations. Architecture creates our physical environment, our culture and our space inside which we live and work.
