Isay Weinfeld was born in São Paulo, Brazil in1952.
Graduated from the Instituto Presbiteriano Mackenzie’s School of Architecture in São Paulo in 1975, Isay Weinfeld returned to the school years later to serve
as tenured professor of Theory of Architecture.
Amongst the various projects developed over more than 30 years, there are houses, commercial buildings, banks, advertising agencies, hotels, stores,
restaurants, etc..., in Brazil and abroad.
Awarded several prizes by the IAB (Brazilian Institute of Architects), he was also granted the Grand Prix in the VI Bienal Internacional de Arquitetura de São
Paulo, for Amauri Square project, in 2005.
His Livraria da Vila bookstore project won, in 2008, the Yellow Pencil Prize in the D&AD Awards held in London, the Spark! Prize in the Spark! Awards held in
San Francisco, and a Honorable Mention in the World Architecture Festival, that took place in Barcelona. In 2009, the project won the Best of the Best Award
in the Red Dot Awards | Product Design, held in Essen.
In 2009, his designs for the 360º Building won the MIPIM Architectural Review Future Projects Awards in the residential category - it was also chosen Overall
Winner in the competition. In the same year, his designs for the Havaianas store won the Shopping category in the World Architecture Festival.
