Interior designer Hiroyuki Matsunaka had established a cafe called "cafe co" with its own architectural design office, with his three other friends in 1996. This new form of cafe had received a lot of attention from its creators based in Minamihorie Osaka. When the design office got off off the ground, Matsunaka wanted to get involved in the wide spectrum of designs, and launched his own architectural and interior design office called "design room 702" in 2004.
