Lea Pelivan (Split,1976) and Toma Pleji (Rijeka,1977) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb in 2001 and established STUDIO UP in 2003 the Zagreb-based firm concerns itself with contemporary architecture and urbanism.
In 2009 they won Mies van der Rohe Award - Emerging Architect Special Mention.
They represented Croatia at the Venice Biennale in 2004 with Frameworks pavilion and in 2010 with pavilion.hr - a floating pavilion. They participated at 2nd and 3rd Rotterdam biennale and recently at Shenzhen & Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism and Architecture with Gizmo pavilion for “Ultra Light Village” Exhibition in 2011/2012.
