The work of my studio is rooted in the distillation of an elemental Architecture. Negotiating modernist constructs within the historicist fabric of Metropolitan Washington DC, the operation of the work is formed by repositioning and braiding each projects diverse pressure into a unique situational aesthetic. Exploring notions of reflectivity and interstitial space, the resultant spatial logic of the work is at once experienced from both the interior and exterior of the building, yet formed with specificity to the conceptual genesis of each work. Tectonically, the work is conceived as an intertwining of the products of industry and the hand of the artisan. Bridging the gap between these elements creates a tension juxtaposing the refined and the raw.
