Invisible Studio is a radical and innovative group of architects, founded by Piers Taylor. Taylor is an academic teaching in the Architectural Association on the AA Design & Make program and a former design fellow at the University of Cambridge and a founding director at Mitchell Taylor Workshop. Invisible Studio are interested in rethinking attitudes to design process, and freeing architectural design from the tyranny of the sanitized design studio, where projects are preimagined and predetermined in isolation from the visceral feedback obtained through physical making.
Invisible Studio is a provocative and polemical vehicle for collaboration, experimentation, research and education, which works internationally and locally, and in a variety of fields. Their work encompasses a number of seminal buildings which have won a plethora of awards and been published widely and internationally. Invisible Studio aims to sets the standard for a new type of progressive architectural practice – a practice bound together by a shared experimental ethos, a creative organization agile enough to reinvent itself as necessary, and a practice fearless in pushing boundaries.
