After some years working with Zaha Hadid Architects and OMA / Rem Koolhaas, Diogo Brito and Rodrigo Vilas-Boas returned to Porto to create OODA. Oporto Office for Design and Architecture.
OODA is a Portuguese-based architectural design office dedicated to create and suggest innovative projects and ideas, mainly through international competitions. It tries to combine sophisticated design philosophy with advanced technology-thoughts in exploring the contemporary architecture, in a pro-active way, combined with a competitive advantage theorical approach to the practice.
OODA designs and proposals embrace the advent of new times. These designs assumed as its own pragmatic utopian experiments, intend to pursue a new direction in the architectural practice by creating unprecedented ambiences, exploring uncharted geometries, developing the use of new languages and applying current building methods, as well as rethinking the prevailing discourses In a nutshell, the projects and expressions reflect a specific architectural exploration in contemporary art, the transformed life style, and the multimedia new expectations, taken as nowadays prime platform for practice business relations and projects development.
