Located in the inner city suburb of Paddington, this brand new luxury property did not reflect the style and personality of its new owners. Much of the concept for the house was dictated by the owners’ existing art collection which had been purchased from their many travels. Having recently moved from Hong Kong they were keen to inject interest into the house as well as create a warm inviting space to entertain family, friends and clients. The existing palette of brown timber and beige was soon re worked by Greg Natale Design into a striking black and white scheme which lots of elements of lilac, grey and orange. All the walls and ceilings were repainted in a fresh white colour and black oak joinery in the kitchen and white oak master bedroom joinery was adorned with signature round door pulls which were used throughout the house. One of the biggest transformations occurred when the beige carpet was replaced with Greg Natale Design custom wall to wall carpet in black and white geometric pattern. It was the clients’ ability to trust us that created possibly the most interesting statement in the house in the formal lounge and dining room. We wallpapered the ceiling in a Greg Natale for Porters Paints gold chevron and applied a lilac stripe to the walls. The room was finished off with a pair of water melon pink Tom Dixon Wingback chairs, a Baxter chesterfield sofa in llic pewter leather, a Verner Panton Fun shell pendant and a striking Dion Horstmans wall sculpture. However the star and inspiration of the room is the client’s Mr Brainwash David Bowie painting bought in New York.
