The store’s design draws upon inspiration from early 20th century museums and theaters, and stained glass of Renaissance churches; the designer, Michelle Wei, brings traditional elements along with modern design and technique into a contemporary space. MW Design has incorporated sunset themes from the entrance to the rear of the store, progressing from yellow to orange to red then purple bringing a full spectrum of color to the eye.
Entering the store, one is struck by levels and colors of glass, which creates a flowing depth and allows for a tremendous use of retail space. Starting from the entrance that is inspired by stained glass of Renaissance churches, with five s of transparent glass and different patterns sandblasted on each to create a 3D effect. The hexagon shape window and the transparent glass tables in the middle of the store are on museum-inspired display. The glass tables are designed at different heights so the products seem overlapping, creating an interesting visual effect. The floor to ceiling glass shelves on the sides are also made with glasses that reflect the colors of sunset.
Walking towards the VIP area at the end of the store it seems as one is entering a theater, with red velvet curtains at the corners and red armchairs and carpet in the middle. MW Design creates a dramatic effect in this area by designing the wall-mounted TVs in the shape of diamonds cut with stainless steel in a mirrored finish, with a video playing on the screens creating a kaleidoscope of reflections. The custom-made agate lamps on the ceiling and the agate coat hooks designed by MW add a striking luxuriousness to the overall feel of the store.
