This project is located in Haarlem, a city near the coast of Holland, at the West side of the capital Amsterdam. Before the renovation the space was occupied by a fabric in the centre of the town.
The clients, a couple with two children, were looking for some time for a spacious house where all living areas were in a large room accommodated. To experience as much as possible the family situation they wanted the kitchen, living and dining area and TV corner to be with no spatial boundary walls accommodated. Archstudio architecturally translated that by concentrating the sleeping areas along the rear. Thus, the remaining functions were merged into one space.
Because the client wanted to hang lots of colorful paintings, the architect chose to keep the materialization minimalist. So oak floors and smooth white stucco creates a balance between all s.
