The loft is located in a restored building, once used as a garage, and it develops in two floors. The first is the main floor, and it lodges the big space of the living room and kitchen, the main bedroom, the children bedroom, three bathrooms and the launderette. The second floor has a big children playroom, a guest room with its own bathroom and a big terrace.
This inspired a much characterized project that respected as much as possible the original aspect of the site. This has been done by the choice of the materials and the furniture. The main character of the entire project, together with the big aluminum windows, is, in fact, the wooden floor, which has the peculiarity of being obtained from old oak barrels. This, together with the use of the slate (bathrooms and kitchen), original bricks (living room walls) and iron (spiral staircase), gives to the project a taste that remind on the old industrial use of the building. The choice of the furniture, many of which have been specifically designed and realized by skilled artisans for this loft, is a mix of modern and old, that gives the house a slight taste of “shabby chic” style.
