Situated in a former garage in a Bourdeaux industrialdistrict (France), this house was fully refurbished anddivided into two main areas: a public one for interactionwith visitors and private living space. The first comprisesa kitchen, cellar and guest room. The owners’ private spacecontains a large lounge ed with book-cases and an innercourtyard. The indoor swimming pool s the gym to thebathroom, which in turn leads to the bedroom through adressing room. A space with a snooker table on the upperfloor overlooks the lounge.
In the courtyard, we find murals in red, saffron and winetones made by Teresa Sapey’s Studio, as the table withwooden top. Planters and black l chairs are from a Spanish Brand named Los Peñotes. The floor is made of teak, a kind of wood that embellishes as time goes by.
In the lounge, we find a tailor-made sofa with chaise longe. The storage unit and the carpet have been designed by TeresaSapey. Over it, we find an oil painting from the famous artist Alberto Acinas; table lamp, vases and cushions from Roche Bobois; turned walnut stools, designed by Eames for Vitra.
The indoor glazed pool has a steel window simulating a conventional chimney. The polyethylene lounge is Cloe model from the Brand Myyour.
The spacious loft lounge, with billiards roomlocated in a high space or attic, under which stood the dining. The old structure of lroofing and cladding has been painted in blackto highlight their presence and provide a visualcounterpoint to the white walls. Teresa Sapey’s Studio was responsible for lining red felt into thebilliard table, matching with the red chairs of Casamania.
Detail of the staircase leading to the billiard room with floating steps in oak matching the pavement. The movable wall that runs along thewall of the room serves as a library and solvesthe storage. Its white finish helps to lighten itsvolume. Everything is designed by Teresa Sapey.
The dining area is decorated with an oil painting of Alberto Acinas, Beam Glass table by Piero Lissoni for Porro and steel and lchairs. The macro floor lamp is the Samurai model of Vibia.
Both WC and main bathroom were planned, distributed and decorated by Teresa Sapey’s Studio. Both have as sculptural furniture in Corian, in support of the sinks. Being a floating volume, thefirst one has a hydraulic system to carry water upwards. The other one simulates a chaise longue and has two sinks and articulatedmirrors. They are illuminated by fluorescent alcoves and dirigibles spotlights in the ceiling.
The kitchen is furnished with white modules ofthe Brand Santos and has a Corian countertop with oranges stools from Edi & Paolo Ciani for Calligaris. Its office is decorated with orange chairs, designed by Archirivolto for Calligaris and aglass table.
On the kitchen furniture was written in Frenchwith vinyl lettering ‘I don’t like cooking’, a joke to the Loft’s owner. Round coated l cavities of different sizes were made on the walls to place the bottles. They were designed by Teresa Sapey.
